Strange Adaptations

In this weeks Science Spin we read about a flip-flopping spider.  The spider flip flops when threatened and somersaults to get away from any threat.  Have you ever seen an animal with a weird or strange adaptation?  Maybe a strange bird, bug, or fish.  If you haven't, have you seen any animal learn a strange trick?  Share what animal you've seen with a strange adaptation or trick and tell what it was.

One day I saw a lady bug in my shirt. I was on my way into a store with my mom and my sister. I was at Winston Salam after a long football game. The lady bug weirdly bit me in the shirt and it hurt a little. Jaylen Baker

Two summers ago I went to Dollywood and it had a show starring eagles. One of the eagles picked up all the egg shells that were pink. There were so many tricks that all the eagles did and so many kinds of eagles. The Bald eagle was the last one. Even though it didn't do any tricks, it was trained well enough to stay in the person's hand. -Bethany

We have wild bunnies living behind our house in the yard. One day the male and female bunny were jumping straight up in the air really high trying to impress each other. I guess it worked, because we saw baby bunnies later in the summer.

My aunt has a SugarGlider and it can glide from a distants .It eats fruit and likes yogret. It's really cool when it glides. They live in Australia, and in Indonisa. When they glide and reach their cage they quickly gripe on so they don't fall. -ANNA

Once I saw a video on the Internet of a husky saying I love you that was a pretty cool trick I wish my dogs knew how to do that!

My cousins dog is very weird. He dances and does backflips all the time. Once I fed him a sugar cookie he started to go crazy. I've never seen a sugar cookie eating dog ever in my life! But once we came back in the room Max was knocked out.(Max is their dogs name) :) - Cidne
